‘The Dinosaur of Crouch End’

Click me for a closer look!

Find out where to see me up close here,

A flash of teeth! A fearsome roar!!
Behold! The crouch end dinosaur!!

His scales glistening in the sun,
Are windows, every single one,

Of buildings you may know quite well.
Which ones are they? Can you tell?

And in his jaws each fearsome tooth,
Is fashioned from a Crouch End roof.

He uses them to chew the bitter,
Bones of people who drop litter!

You see, he has great pride in these,
Fair streets that form his feet and knees.

He loves Crouch End, it is his home,
And so with gleeful heart he roams,

The length and breadth of town, and sleeps,
Among the chimney pots and keeps,

The pigeon population down,
And always keeps the clock well wound.

I hear he finds it most divine,
When people cycle up his spine,

And you may hear him whoop and wail,
When someone skateboards down his tail.

So if one day you chance to meet,
A dino walking down the street,

Give him a wave and shake his claw,
For he’s the Crouch End dinosaur.

Colour me Happy!!! Crouch End Dino gets Handed over to the Creatives of Crouch End

Starting this Weekend (November 12th) the artist behind ‘The Dinosaur of Crouch End’ Is publicly putting on display a Giant 2m Long outline version of the beast himself, outside Budgens, Crouch End, Stall 4 All

‘Being an artist who is totally preoccupied with the ideas of participation in art and interactivity, I always wanted this to not only represent the community I live in, but for it to be created by the people who inhabit it’.

The Giant Dinosaur Print will be displayed every Saturday of the Nov and Dec until the 3rd and the artists is asking all those creative crouch enders, young and old, to come along and colour in a part of the design and then initial the piece as the artist. There will be mulled wine and hot spiced apple juice and a raffle to win a framed limited edition print as well as the Postcards and Prints being on sale

‘I think the communal effort on a single piece of art like this will look incredible, not only the tapestry of colours and styles, but all the initials of those who have taken part’.

All materials will be provided so get yourselves down to there over christmas and get creative.
